We recognize that many youth never get the opportunities that we had to explore the outdoors due to a variety of social and economic circumstances. We feel that everyone deserves those chances, while youth especially can benefit from a greater understanding of and appreciation for the outdoors. The AMC Youth Opportunities Program (YOP) has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to helping youth learn about and enjoy the outdoors, which is why we have decided to contribute a portion of all proceeds to the YOP.

Established in 1968, the AMC YOP has helped over 250,000 youth to access the great outdoors. Through this program, the AMC teams with agencies throughout New England and the Mid-Atlantic, focusing primarily on youth from urban and lower-income communities. The YOP provides qualified youth leaders with the education and resources they need to lead fun outdoors trips throughout the year. It offers free equipment loans, discounted lodging and scholarships, and trips range from skiing to canoeing, camping, hiking and more.
